Irish crochet with a modern twist
For years I have been admiring Irish crochet!
the way all this roses, leaves and other motifs are crocheted and then attached to each other.....
Since my health is not that good nowadays, I spend a lot of time just sitting..
well, not just sitting in an idle way, I have been gathering information and knowledge about this form of crochet.
two weeks ago I started, with the silk yarn I have in stash.
I realized white would not really work for me, so I paint the motifs I crochet, and the yarn for the ground I paint in skeins.
So I have control over each color on each place!
For the photo I took it of the groundfabric to look to it, and I really like it!
Because I use silk, and don't work it too tight, it really gets a flow what will make it very suitable for a top!

Hi, I like your irish crochet work and the idea of painting the yarn. Did you use a fabric paint? Are you going to use this piece as a wall hanging or something else? Thanks for sharing. This is really interesting.
